FAQs

Outdoor games for the garden and park

There’s no better way to spend a sunny afternoon than with family, friends, food, and a couple of hand-picked garden games for some friendly competition. Boules is a classic, as far as outdoor games go, so it’s no wonder it has stood the test of time. It seems easy at first, but there’s a certain knack to getting your coloured boules near that jack, and we bet there’s a secret sore loser in your midst. Easily transportable, you can take these with your picnic to the park.
Another favourite garden game for families is rounders. We seriously challenge you not to get carried away and enjoy yourself with a game of rounders this summer. If you don’t have the space in your own garden, take your rounders set to the park so you can hit, run, and slide your way to home base.

Garden party games ideas

If you can’t wait to host a garden party at home this summer and are looking for some garden party games to challenge your friends and family, then we’ve got the perfect idea for you.
Make your own school-style sports day using cones! Set up an egg and spoon race and have your guests slalom between the cones and spin around three times before they must take the same route back and tag their team mate to go next. Better yet, take away the eggs and use the wooden spoons as team batons, and make your own assault course. For this, you might need a tunnel for your guests to wriggle through, the same cones to set a route, and even station someone at the end with a water pistol to keep everyone on their toes!
Giant garden games are a great way of encouraging mingling and playing at your guests’ own pace. For example, the popular tumble tower is a giant garden game that will encourage ‘whoops’ of incredulity as the blocks keel over, and anywhere between 2 to 4 people can play at a time. Giant garden games = giant fun.

Garden games for kids

You don’t need to be hosting a party to get your children outside and playing garden games. Games like Velcro tennis, where you need to throw a ball and catch it on a Velcro pad strapped to your hand, are a great way to practice hand-eye coordination and just to get out and play.
Something sure to brighten up after-school evenings and weekends alike is some pop-up football goals. Football, possibly the ultimate garden game for kids, is something that brings children of all ages together. These are pop-up goals too, so they’re simple to fold away and store, and easily transportable to the park or to a friend’s garden.
