Good idea but with some problems
This is a good concept but the designer hasn't quite thought through the practicalities. In short the plug is a bit too large. Plug it into a single socket and it presses the socket switch on. If you want to switch the socket off you need to pull the plug out.
Similarly, if you plug it into one side of a double socket, the size of the plug means you cannot insert another plug/device into the free socket.
