A convenient and affordable cordless iron
I purchased this to replace a travel iron which had a damaged cord after many years of use. I rarely iron, but do use one for crafting, or before donating items to a charity shop. I particularly wanted to try a cordless iron as I have limited access to power sockets and the cord on my previous iron would always get in the way. I'm really glad I opted for this style. It is a medium weight iron and heats up super fast. As some have mentioned, there is a little bit of a knack to replacing the iron on the base, but it's a minor issue. I tried it out on a stack of tea-towels and was very impressed with the results. I also loved that it can be used as a vertical steamer which allowed me to refresh some cushions to use up the remaining water in the tank before turning it off. I can't say how well it would hold up when used without the base if you were wading through a pile of laundry, but I found it held it's powder fine as a cordless iron as I completed each tea-towel. It only needs a few seconds to power back up. For the convenience of not battling with a cord, and versatility of being able to steam with it, I would say this is absolutely worth it. I have used several appliances from Beldray, all great, so I am confident that this will stand up to the test of time. As always, I registered the warranty for extra peace of mind, although I've never needed them. For the price, I think this is a great purchase. I marked down one star because of the base and also as a very minor issue, I felt accessing the dial was a little fiddly as it is tucked under the handle.
