Our New Safe Shopping Measures
July 20, 2020

As life slowly returns to normal amidst the Covid-19 pandemic, non-essential shops have been added to the list of businesses allowed to open. That means your local Robert Dyas has reopened, ready and waiting for your future purchases. Despite the relaxation of rules and our excitement at being able to reopen, there are some important measures we’ve put in place to ensure the safety of our customers and colleagues.

Limits on customer numbers

To ensure social distancing measures are easier to follow, we’re putting limits on the amount of customers allowed in store at any one time. This will depend on the size of the store and we’ll have one of our colleagues on hand for queue management to monitor this.

Sanitisation stations

We’ll have one of these set up in every store. It’ll include hand sanitiser, so you can give your hands and your basket a wipe down when you enter. We’d recommend giving your hands a clean when you leave as well.

Social distancing signs

It is sometimes easy to forget social distancing when you go into shopping mode. That’s why we’ve put floor markers reminding everyone of social distancing, one-way systems, lift and stair instructions, and required distance at the till.

Safe checkout

At a time when making less contact is better, we are recommending our customers to use contactless payment cards where possible.

We’ve also installed Perspex screens at all of our tills for added safety.

Don’t forget that new rules from the government mean that everyone has to wear a mask in shops and supermarkets from the 24th July and we’ll be enforcing this within our branches. Thanks in advance for your understanding and helping to keep everyone safe.
