Solid base
Just what we needed for our very sunny back garden. We move it around according to the sun's position. We have riven sandstone slabs and a heavy parasol and find it quite east to move. A good investment.

Effortless
I’ve not had much opportunity to use a lot but, moving it is effortless. However, fixing wheels on is not so easy as it is quite heavy and needs to be turned over in order to do this.

Great quality parasol base, delivered quickly.
I bought this parasol base 3 weeks ago. I was really impressed with the quality especially as the price was so reasonable compared to others that are a lot lighter online. So so glad I purchased this one with wheels as we have had to move the parasol around quite a bit due to the weather. Nice and sleek looking. Would recommend for a large parasol.

I bought this a few weeks ago as my table in the back does not have a hole in the center
into which a parasol could be fitted. I have a large patio and therefor wanted something which I could move around as necessary, due it having wheels. Once you get used to the base it is easy to push along even with your foot.

Great stand
I purchased this parasol base a few weeks ago. It’s very heavy on wheels. Manoeuvering it around the garden it’s very easy. The parasol has stayed in place and not blown over extremely pleased with it.

Heavy Parasol Base for Windy Site
Strong parasol base for my ultra windy site. Cheaper models failed ..with parasols falling and nearly crashing into plants. I did not want to spend so much on a base however so far, it seems to be working. If you too have a windy site, don't rely on cheap light bases. In the end it may save money as my parasol itself was badly damaged from fall prior to this new purchase. Only quibble, delivery was very slow. When I contacted RD they never replied!

Lovely addition to my garden furniture
Item just as described ' very solid and seems to be long lasting. But you will need to place it on a very flat surface to be able to move it about. It doesnt like patio slabs.

Does a great job
This parasol base is really easy to use for such a heavyweight: it holds a large parasol well and is yet quite easy to move. My only complaint is that it is too easily damaged: just putting it on its side to put the wheels on gave bad scratches and one corner was easily chewed off by a little dog!

Great product - rubbish delivery
The product was as described. The delivery took a couple of weeks instead of the 2-3 days that was expected. I had to chase. The delivery man then just left this 37.5kg package on the doorstep for my wife to carry into the house.

Doesn't last
I purchased this in September 2020 and initially it was fine, however the casters do not have the ball bearings totally enclosed so some drop out, which then makes others easy to drop, which means the caster fails.
Being an engineer I did a repair, however failed again.
I contacted both RD and Charles Bentley, the supplier, to see if they would supply one replacement caster and CB said no as the manufacturer had intellectual property rights... what about ability to repair. RD said outside 1 year warranty, so again wouldn't help. I was happy to buy a new caster but neither wanted to help.
Rather than take it up the tip I've repaired it by buying 4 new caster wheels from a well know supplier S....fix.

Not so versatile....
We purchased online along with a Charles Bentley parasol. The description on Robert Dyas describes this stand as "versatile", and the only restrictive criteria matched with the Parasol we bought. We set it up, my wife and children sat underneath it and a slight breeze blew it over, luckily I was there to catch it. On further investigation, of going to the Charles Bentley website, it says its only suitable for 3 types of parasols...so not so versatile. Furthermore, this happened over 3 weeks ago and we reported it straight away...the products are still here waiting to be collected.
As a product, I am sure if I bought one of the three parasols that it could hold, then it would be fine.

If you are not at home when we try to collect we reserve the right to deduct from your refund or charge your credit card the direct costs to us of the failed return in accordance with the Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) Regulations 2000.
