No spillage outside the toaster
I bought this as I was fed up with filling spilling out of sandwiches and giving me a headache trying the clean the appliance externally around, for example, the hinges! Not only does this have removable plates, but they are curved to contain any overspill from the sandwiches. Absolutely great!

Amazing and Kind of Nostalgic
The original Breville Sandwich Toaster was a firm family favourite growing up. When the old one broke I tried for a while to get it fixed but a replacement had to be sought. This machine did not disappoint and it was a very reasonable price. There is so much you can do with it and they all taste great.

Perfect fo a few founds of toasties for the family
Perfect size to accommodate standard bread size with no risks of the contents leaking out the sides of the breville toaster.
Also, the detachable toasting plates makes it easy to clean in the dish washer or hand washing.

Great size and super easy to clean

Absolutely super toastie maker
First time we have ever had a toastie maker and this model is exactly what we wanted. Follow the instruction booklet and it does not overflow. Deep enough to have fillings of cheese, tomato and chopped celery all together without problem. Had omelettes tonight and they were great. Thoroughly recommended.

A good find!
I found my Breville 2 Slice Sandwhich Toaster on top of the communal bins, so I took it in, cleaned it up, checked the wiring (a bit frayed) and cooked my first toastie. Lovely!
This is testament to Brevilles durability, robustness and quality. I shall happily replace this with a new model when this one has run its course which will, most likely, be a while yet (I like the look of the red model).

Just the right size
This is my 2nd Breville sandwich toster I love the removable plates much better. I use kingsmill thick bread in mine and place the flat edges next to the center cut line and the rest hanges out side the toster. With a good amount of filling in place I find my toastis come out perfect and cleane cut and the over hang of the bread is sealed and I use it to lift the sandwich out. Dont know why others are having so much trouble ? I will say dont use thin sandwich bread or to much filling or your bread may tare. Hope this helps. xx

Pity about plates
It’s a pity that you can’t get flat griddle plates like most other brands do.
Ok you can get toasted sandwich plates and Waffle plates but Why no griddle or flat plates?

Good toaster to add to kitchen
I brought this toaster from Breville having brought the same one a year earlier. I have had to replace the first one, as it would appear I had slightly overloaded my 2 sandwiches I was making, and in closing the lid the handle cracked to the right and left but enabling me to close it and complete the sandwich making. Definitely the deepest filler machine around, however users should heed the overload, as even though the handles are stronger than most, they still have a weakness to be careful of.

Disappointing but it does the job
I bought this to replace an old broken sandwich maker, because it was described as Deep Fill. I was pleased that the sandwich filling did not leak out but I was disappointed that it wasnt as deep as advertised. I could not close and lock the handle, as the instructions tell you to, because the hinge on the back isnt high enough. I couldn’t get the bread brown (see photo) no matter how long I left the sandwich in the machine and the temperature kept dropping while in use. The bread (Warburtons toastie) hangs out the sides (see photo). But having said that, I don’t suppose there is anything better on the market. It is a shame Breville and Warburtons don’t get together to design the perfect sandwich toaster, one that fits their bread.

Doesnt do 2x slices (2x sandwiches) only can fit one at a time, filing comes out half the sandwich, not bad, but would'nt go out of my way for this product. shame.

Disappointed
My sister and I got given this toastie maker last Christmas, we were so happy with it as it reminded us of our late grandparent. Unfortunately we only managed a few sandwiches from it as something burnt out and it tripped our electric. We gave it back to our auntie who had purchased it and she took it back, all the way back to exeter I’m sure she said. So round two we had another toastie maker, this one lasted a little longer almost a year but then unfortunately the same happened again. Totally gutted as we thought it was a good product with the removable plates.

Not my idea of deep filll
Talking toasties at work and were talking about deep fill, to me this a standard size fill. Toasts nicely, neat machine. Very disappointed as only bought as it was deep fill
