The HYEA5200X 52cc 2-stroke petrol earth auger/borer/ground drill from Hyundai. The HYEA5200X is a high-performance heavy-duty earth auger designed to deal with tough drilling requirements. Fitted with a powerful 52cc 2-stroke engine and 3 professionally engineered drill attachments the HYEA5200X is capable of penetrating the toughest soil and ground quickly.
Weighing 12kg including 200 x 800 drill attachment makes the HYEA5200X easy to transport and manoeuvre due to its detachable drill bits.
The solid ergonomically designed handles are fitted with anti-vibration technology to increase comfort and protect the users arms during extensive use and can be operated by one or two people while maintaining its excellent performance.
Fitted with easy-start technology the HYEA5200X 52cc petrol engine is easier to pull & quicker to start and its heavy-duty air filter ensures long engine life for the toughest of drills. The on/off switch fingertip throttle control and safety trigger are mounted on the right-hand grip providing easy precise and safe control.
The 52cc engine has tremendous mid-range torque so the earth auger does not have to be operated at maximum revs when drilling. This makes for a more pleasant quieter user experience and reduces fuel consumption whilst promoting long engine life.

Hyundai Auger
I bought this 2 weeks ago, and used it for 3 days putting in lots of 200mm diameter posts, to a depth of nearly 1000mm. Did a great job.

Good so far!
We have had this machine for about 4 weeks. We have 4500 hedge plants to sow and have drilled about 14000 holes so far. We use the 4” auger for the small whips and the 8”for the larger holes. We have wet clay soil and it peels out the soil no problem. Just beware when you catch a stone!
Would have given five stars but it’s a devil to start from cold.

Recently purchased post hole borer used it for 10 post holes and the drill snapped have been in touch with Robert dyers five times and we’re told they would send a replacement have not received or heard from them they are now ignoring my emails

Some 'Ups & Downs'
Used to bury 34 meters of fence post and also used to plant hiding plants along the line of fencing. Half way through the machine developed a lot of vibration and it came to light that the bolts holding the engine to the main shaft had vibrated loose and 2 had even fallen out! I suspect this is poor quality control at the assembly stage- please be aware and check all these bolts are present and tightly fastened before use. Capable machine but let down by the QC checks.

Pretty good for non stoney ground
Worked well until we hit stone. Small part of blade broke off. Good for the price but not easy to use. Robert Dyas very good delivery.

Hyundai earth auger
I bought this earth auger about 3 weeks ago. So so measured out the correct amount of petrol and 2 stroke oil, filled the tank and followed all starting instructions. So turned on the power switch primed bulb primer and set choke to cold start and pulled recoil rope expecting machine to start after about 3 to 5 pulls, but machine did not start as easy as that I tried priming again I tried leaving it for half an hour or so but it still wouldn't start. So I kept trying different ways of starting ie without choke and also tried with full acceleration, I eventually got it started and run it for a while, then I turned it off and started it again and it did start. But if I left the machine for 20 or 30 minutes it was all the same process all over again. So I had to go and buy a new earth auger from M Tech and when it arrived I carried out the same process as the hyundai auger and it started on the 2nd pull and seems as well made as the hyundai. So I called hyundai or gen power and explained and they said that they thought I was priming it to many times, so after leaving it for a day or two I attempted to start it again with the same outcome as before, so I called hyundaiback and explainedand they suspectit has a faultycarburettor. So I phoned Robert Dyas who i bought it through and they agreed to have it collected and I'd receive a refund. If the machine had started as well as my M Tech auger it would be a brilliant machine. I would recommend the product because they can't all be faulty. I would have accepted a replacement but I needed one urgently so had to buy another one
