Literally a Life saver
I purchased this for my mother who is sadly bedbound. The recent hot weather had seen her room temperature up into the 30c's. I needed a unit that could be controlled via wifi, was programmable and was also fairly quiet. So many reviews of any aircon, say "Noisy", well of course they are, but it's where that noise escapes. So any comments on noise levels have to be comparative.
Having owned a couple of different make units over the years, this one is definitely on the quieter side. There are different modes for night time which greatly reduces the noise in the room and is great to maintain temperature. On full on mode to drop temperature in the room dramatically it kicks into full on mode and is at it's noisiest but still nowhere near as noisy as my old units.
This has a self condensing mode that vents the damp air out through the 150mm exhaust tube. This was larger than my other units so I guess the greater volume tube means you don't have to vent out at higher pressure so less noise. This was essential as I usually only get up to Mum every other day so a non condensing one that can often need draining every day was out of the question,(carers have enough to do already)
So getting a 150mm tube out through a wall was not an option in our situation, so I made a plywood board up to fit a fanlight window and this works perfectly.
The wi-fi/Alexa/google setup was simple enough, if you read the instructions or better still YouTube it. The vents at the front are okay, but if anything could be made to adjust air flow left or right which would have made situating unit easier. The vents are best just left open.
So all connected, Mum looking worried, I fired it up from the app, and set temperature to 25C, shut the room door and instantly noticed the difference. (i tried lower temperatures and they worked but were too cold) There does not appear to be a temperature offset that you can change. I measured room temperature at 23C when it said 25C on the unit. But as long as you take that into account it makes no odds, just set to what is comfortable. When the unit reaches temperature programmed, it goes off and is silent then comes back on as temperature rises. I have scheduled different temperatures at night as Mum like it cooler at night. She can voice control it from Alexa, but has never had to do that. I went away for a week and was able to change where necessary with the Igenix app which I was already using for the tower fan.
Well four weeks on, and I just have not touched the unit or setup. It is on day and night but only "kicks" in when temperature goes up. Essential to keep the doors closed on the room obviously and once I got the carers into the habit of closing doors, the unit does not appear to be too expensive to run.
The carers were adamant that over the last couple of months, Mum may not have survived with the very high temperatures without this unit.

Does the job but design flaw
Works as expected. Design flaw is that the flaps where the cool air comes out from face downwards and not upwards as the picture depicts.
