Overview
Getting family and friends together for a BBQ is a great way to make the most of good weather. This Hunter three burner gas BBQ from Outback is perfect for exactly that.
This large gas BBQ has a sturdy and robust base to withstand year after year of outdoor cooking. With three individually controlled burners, this BBQ can comfortably accommodate all of your friends and family BBQ needs.
The PE coated hood gives this BBQ a tough exterior but a cover is recommended for protection during storage and while it’s not in use. The two PE coated grill plates can easily be cleaned thanks to the non-stick nature of the material while the cast iron construction is a tough and durable material for years and years of BBQ enjoyment.
Feature and Benefits
Hybrid charcoal and gas cooking system
New for the 2020 season, this BBQ uses charcoal baskets with Hybrid briquettes which gives all the great taste of charcoal cooking but the convenience of lighting it with gas. To light, turn the burners on high for around 15 minutes until the briquettes start to the ashen grey turn off the burners and the briquettes will continue to burn (much like charcoal). The briquettes will continue to burn without the burners lit so you can cook on the gas BBQ like you would on a charcoal BBQ!
How to insert your hybrid cooking system:
- Remove the grill plates and centre piece.
- Remove the flame tamers from the gas burners.
- Insert the hybrid cooking charcoal basket covering some of the burners.
- Fill the basket with the desired charcoal.
- Replace the grill plates and centre piece and ignite your charcoal with the gas burners.
- Moveable – Position this BBQ in the perfect spot in your garden thanks to the 2 durable wheels on the base.
- Side tables – The timber and metal side tables are ideal for giving yourself a bit extra space for food prep as you cook.
- 3 burner – 3 individually controlled burners give you the ability to regulate the temperature of the different areas of the grilling plates.

This was bought for birthday BBQ in mid June. Easy enough to assemble but disappointing to see superficial damage on packaged parts. Probably due to carton being dropped as that was damaged. Extra purchase of Outback rotisserie highly recommended to make the most of the model.

Great BBQ - Shocking Delivery
BBQ is great, really sturdy and heavy not like the cheaper flimsy ones so really happy with it.
However the delivery was shocking. Paid for next day delivery on the Monday for delivery Tuesday. Nothing arrived Tuesday so chased and was assured that it would be out for Wednesday delivery... Wednesday came and nothing arrived so chased again. Was told it was missed off the lorry as the lorry was at capacity... Then the next day was the Jubilee so I didn't get the BBQ till the following Monday. Got refunded the delivery charge pretty quick but all round rubbish service.
BBQ burns sausages nicely though.

Great Outback BBQ
Great BBQ. Was fairly easy to put together apart from the last part where you fix the top to the legs/wheels etc.. for that you want two men! Really easy to use and food cooks well and very evenly. The Charcoal tray is half the size of the BBQ cooking area so id say you want another one of them really. Ive only used gas but its great

Perfect!
I gave the bbq to my daughter and her partner as a housewarming gift, so have no direct experience except for their being so thrilled with the product.
Think they’ve been bbq-ing every day for over a week now, and I know there will be many family and friends get-togethers to enjoy in the future!

Excellent for daily use - everything tastes great
Have used almost daily to cook:
Roast chicken, steaks, kebabs, corn-on-the-cob, asparagus wrapped in pancetta all absolutely delicious.
Bought a gazebo for so have been grilling even when it's raining. It's very easy to get going and hot. Gets you outside and makes cooking fun.

Good all rounder
Bought this a couple of weeks ago and used it last weekend for the first time. Very pleased with the product although so far have only used as a gas bbq. One thing I would say that you probably do need some sand in the drip tray to soak up any fat as the foil is really not good enough and we were cooking low fat burgers low fat sausages and some chicken thighs.
With regards to the delivery as usual with anything ordered on line from Robert Dyas excellent service and always kept well informed of the situation concerning delivery even though this was purchased in the lockdown. Very well done!

A Great Replacement
This is my second Outback BBQ, and it’s a real step up from my last 2 gas-burner! The whole experience of ordering on line, tracking delivery and the delivery was excellent. I can’t fault the delivery man, he was friendly professional and happily delivered to my garage at the bottom of my garden. Building the bbq was as stated a two person job, the instructions were clear and precise. I have used the bbq twice since and I am very happy. I have put the charcoal option on at one end and it will stay there as it gives an authentic bbq taste !

Great dual fuel BBQ
I’d never seen this before, probably because I hadn’t looked but dual fuel is excellent. I was always charcoal and never liked gas but this is best of both and I love it.
Load the coals and light the gas and in 15mins you are cooking on coals !
If your coals run out turn the gas back on. Brilliant.

Just what I wanted
I bought this about 3 weeks ago to replace an old barbecue which had collapsed. The 3 burner hybrid is an Ideal practical size for general family usage and entertaining.
The aluminium frame is sturdy and unlike wood, will not require maintenance. I chose Outback because it has a good and longstanding reputation and spares and additional items can generally be easily obtained.

Great BBQ for a Bargain price!
Decided to treat us to a new BBQ & saw the Hunter 3 Hybrid on the Robert Dyas page at great price. Ordered it & luckily it would appear I got the last one in stock! It arrived the next day. We purchased some Outback coals & have had one BBQ so far & found it really easy to use & cooked the food perfectly.

Now we're cooking with gas!
I've had this long enough to have used it a few times now. Great service from Robert Dyas, delivered quickly even during the Covid-19 crisis. Perhaps a BBQ isn't the most essential purchase at this time, but I was looking for something to enable the family to miss getting out to eat a little less and this fit the bill.
Relatively straightforward to assemble, the instructions aren't perfect but I have seen worse. They are no wrong when they say it needs two people, in fact three people is ideal for one of the later steps to keep everything lined up. Once assembled and connected to a gas bottle it's simplicity itself to use. Heat is controllable, so it's easy to achieve good results; it's not just a flamethrower that's going to cremate everything you put on the grill.
If you are in the market for a good looking gas BBQ, with the option to use coals or hot rocks for a smokier flavour if that floats your boat, then this is ideal. Family of six here and there is plenty of space for sufficient burgers, sausages, steak etc to feed everyone at the same time.
Get the all-weather cover at the same time, you are going to want to keep your new grill protected. Fits like a glove.

Just what we wanted
We got this about a month ago. I did my research before hand looking at all the various sites and different BBQs. We used our previous one nearly everyday in the summer. So having the right one was very important. We found this one for a great price and the duel fuel was just fantastic easy for just us two using the gas and charcoal for friends round. Easy to put together as long as you follow the instructions. But it needs two of you.

Contact our Customer Services team who will be able to arrange a collection for your item. Please ensure that you provide your order number when contacting customer services.
If you are not at home when we try to collect we reserve the right to deduct from your refund or charge your credit card the direct costs to us of the failed return in accordance with the Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) Regulations 2000.
