Great for my thick naturally curly hair!
I bought these as my daughter pinched my old straighteners (I was wearing my hair naturally curly for a while) but I decided to get it cut and try blow drying and straightening my hair again for a change. Wow! Considering how thick my hair is, these straighteners glided through my blowdried hair easily and have left it sleek and soft. Great price too! I would recommend these straighteners.

Amazing results
These straighteners are honestly the best I’ve used.Had g.h.d,coriolis and cloud 9 before using these .Do exactly what they say,if not more.Amazing results on my usually thick unruly hair.Well done Remington for providing such a great product at a very reasonable price.Will definitely be purchasing again.

Better than GHD
Im not sure whether I have the old style product, as mine looks slightly different to the one shown. I have loads of straighteners, from GHDs to SAKS. I bought this item a few years ago and, whilst I haven't used it daily, it has lasted for years. I had it under my bed, with some of the others I bought, and forgot all about it and found it whilst clearing out!! I forgot just how good it was. Heat's up fast (and gets very hot!), really smooths hair and leaves it feeling great. I can honestly say I think it is comparable, if not better than my GHDs. Excellent value to money as well.

A good performing set of straighteners for the money.
Being a hairdresser and a lecturer I am always interested when manufacturers make bold claims. I recently reviewed the S8590 Keratin Therapy Pro Straighteners and found them to be a competent set of straighteners, leaving the hair less dense and with a healthy looking shine. With this in mind I am not sure why Remington has decided to make another set of straighteners that do more or less the same job.
The packaging is clear and displays all the benefits of the straighteners; in the box are the straighteners, not the prettiest I’ve seen, instructions offering guidance and recommendations for hair type (density) and how best to use them, and a silky heat resistant pouch. The pouch will only accommodate the straighteners and not the cable or plug, so it is purely to put the straighteners in when you have finished using them and they are still hot. This is a shame as the Keratin Therapy Pro Straighteners come with a case that will accommodate straighteners, cable, plug, and you can also use it as a heat mat.
The straightener’s ergonomics feel comfortable in your hand; the cord is of a good length and swivels to prevent damage during use. The ability to lock the plates prevents damage to the straighteners during every day use and also means that they can be made safe immediately after use. The ceramic Argan Oil infused plates are of a good length and width to make straightening more efficient and the floating plate gives smooth even straightening. There is also an automatic shut off function if a button is not pressed during a sixty minute period which is a good safety precaution and they come with a five year warranty.
During use the straighteners heat up quickly and the nine adjustable heat settings are useful for different hair types and densities. The ability to lock the temperature and boost the heat will appeal to hairdressers who know how to compensate in speed and section thickness during straightening. I straightened one side of a client’s hair with my straighteners and the other with the Shine Therapy Straighteners; on the hottest setting there was not a noticeable difference in use, but the side straightened with the Shine Therapy Straighteners was definitely a little shinier. I then decided to straighten one side of another client’s hair using the Shine Therapy Straighteners and the other with the Keratin straighteners; the Keratin straighteners left the hair a little more compressed, but apart from that the result was more or less the same.
The benefit of these straighteners is the heat activated shine enhancing Micro Conditioners which protect the hair from the heat of the straighteners and leave the hair shiny and healthy looking. Anything that protects the hair from heat damage is a good thing and something that other manufacturers have yet to produce. That said how long will the Micro Conditioners stay infused in the plates? Remington says the life of the straighteners; the straighteners are warrantied for five years so I would guess that is the life of the straighteners. Overall a good performing set of straighteners for the money.

The S8500 Shine Therapy Straightners say that they make your hair intensely glossy with 86% more shine.
The look and feel of these straightners is not dissimilar to the keretin pro therapy version, however they do feel slightly lighter and the plates are infused with Moroccan Argan Oil and Vitamin E that when heated evenly emit shine enhancing Micro Conditioners through the plates on to your hair. They also have similar features to the other remington models, such as automatice switch off, fast heat up, plate lock storage and heat resistant pouch (to name a few). The heat resistant pouch is excellent, as I can store them away straight after use, and as they are quite slim I can stor them quite easily.
I'm not sure how it they manage to infuse the ceramic plates, but i definitely saw an improvement to my hair after using the straightners. My hair looked realy shiny and felt incredibly smooth. The results lasted all day, the only down side is that I found my hair needed washing the next day (which to be fair I do most days anyway).
Overall they are great straightners, and at a brilliant price.
