Just the job
Only had a short time, but does everything I want. Picked a scale with larger amounts as previous scale couldn't cope with a bigger piece of meat to check for the Sunday roast timings. Also love the liquid feature which saves getting measuring spoons out and washing. The platform is larger than my last scale which is much better for larger bowls, in the past it was quite difficult to see the weight because of the bowl. On /off/ zero and weight type buttons on the edge at the front, again leaving more useable platform. As some have said glass does show fingerprints, but always wipe over and dry before putting away so not an issue for me. I like the fact the glass is one flat piece, nowhere for anything spilled to get stuck.

Just what I needed
I bought this as a replacement for a set of old digital scales. It’s easy to store without taking up space in a small kitchen. And easy to use. I think they’re good value for money.

More than a kitchen scale
Very pleased with the purchase, the scales are easy to clean and make adding weighted ingredients one at a time very easy as the scale is resettable after each addition , and given it's maximum carry of 22kg is no problem for most kitchens

Bought this to replace my very old defunct original Salter model. Does everything I want, weighs in lbs ozs, mls, fl oz, grams, can be reset to zero to add ingredients, and holds 10kg! What more could you want. Does show fingerprints, but does it matter, no not to me. Easily cleaned with a quick wipe.

Good however there is a fault with the battery now
Scales are great but three years down the track, there is an issue showing the battery is low, I replaced them a week ago and have used the scales once since then and now “lo” is appearing on the screen again. This has happened three times now, surely it’s not the batteries, I’ve never had a problem with them.

Inaccurate and inconsistant measurement.
I have found frequently, that smaller units of measurement are inaccurate. Sometimes it doesn't register at all, and sometimes the amount changes eg. by a gram or ml so one moment it's 4g then changes to 3g without adding to or taking any amout away. Also there is a problem in getting the scale to register 1g which it's supposed to. This has led to an unsatisfactory result in the products I have been making .

Not accurate
These scales were to replace an older set that developed a fault. They do look very nice, but I find the buttons placed at the front tend to get caught by things and the scales witch on when I didn't actually want them.
My biggest issue, for scales that are listed as accurate, they aren't They're accurate up to about 100g, once you get over that they get increasingly inaccurate. I used scale calibration weights and as an example, 500g, on these scales weighs in at 503g, 1000g at 1006g and 2000g at 2011g. Not great as an accurate cooking tool.
According to Salter, the accuracy standard for their kitchen scales is +/- 1%, which on a 10kg set of scales, could be as much as 100g!
They also have a tendency to be a little slow at showing the weight, especially when slowly pouring items into a bowl, and the weight sometimes fluctuates a few times while it makes up its mind.
I have a very cheap set of scales, they look awful and certainly aren't well built, but they're completely accurate, so it can be done, which makes it even more amazing that a company with the reputation of Salter haven't bothered with real accuracy.
