Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good value basic Summerhouse I'm a professional builder. Looking around for a cheap summerhouse for my own garden, I found this one. Robert Dyas offered the best price, hence I bought it from here. Shopping around prior to purchase I read a number of reviews across the internet, some were good, some were quite damning. I think people need to be aware of what they are buying. This is a budget summerhouse. It's construction is similar to most cheap sheds. If you're expecting a substantial 'Garden Room' then you're going to be dissapointed, and you really should be looking in the £4,000+ price bracket. For the money, this summerhouse is exceptional value. You couldn't buy the timber alone for anywhere near the price I paid, let alone the doors & windows, tempered safety glass, roofing felt, hardware etc. The design is well thought out for easy handling and assembly, and the timber is generally good quality. The finished assembly is sturdy and rigid. However, the hardware is junk. I replaced almost all of it. It's such poor quality that no shop would sell any of it as stand alone products. The roofing felt is also cheap shed felt which tears easily. I replaced this as well with a decent quality 15 year felt. I don't understand why a reasonable product like this is supplied with such poor accessories. I realise it's made to a price point, but the retail cost to me of decent hardware and felt was less than £50, so it seems wasteful and pointless to supply it with cheaper parts. The quality of the doors and windows was also a bit questionable. One of the doors was slightly warped, but thankfully in such a way that it held tight when shut and locked. There were several poorly routed profiles on both doors and windows which required rectification with filler prior to assembly. The glass is good quality, but the glazing beads are a joke. The timber quality was poor, and the profile is asymmetrical, meaning it all needs to be cut the same way to work. Of course, it wasn't, meaning that some beads faced one way out, and some the other. I pre-painted all the individual parts for a better finish, however the glazing beads were so rough that the doors and windows looked very second hand, and it all needed remedial sanding and filling and re-painting to get them looking good. If you have the skills and the time, this summerhouse can be made to look absolutely lovely. I've insulated, plastered and decorated mine, and fitted engineered wood floor and a log burner. I'm really happy with it. But if you're just hoping to screw together what you're supplied, it's only going to be just about passable. But as I said previously, you couldn't buy the timber alone for this money, so it really is exceptional value, and its not really fair to complain about the quality. It just needs time, and some money, and a fair bit of effort if you want it to look exceptional, too.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Ideal corner summerhouse I bought this about a month ago and it’s taken this long to paint the whole thing with 3 coats of Cuprinol due to the weather conditions (don’t buy in winter). My husbands a joiner and he constructed it in a day and finished off the following day. It’s quality isn’t the best but you get what you pay for, I only wanted somewhere to craft and it’s probably ideal but would have paid a lot more for a better quality. It’s good having to open windows for ventilation and heat if we get a summer. There is no lock as such so we have fitted a secure lock to save getting broken into. All in all it does the job.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from hmmm poor quality Delivery was well organised and the one man team did all the lugging of components....when we had eventually finished painting all pieces of wood it took a lot longer than 6 and a half hours to construct....some of the wood was very poor quality and how some pieces made it through quality control, I will never know, especially the batons for windows looks ok from a distance but on close up inspection the overall quality of wood is quite poor...………...
