Overview
Offering a simple yet effective way to protect your home, this security timer works by switching your lights on and off in a random pattern to make your home look occupied when you’re away.
It’s designed with a clever dusk to dawn sensor and winter/summer settings to ensure it only lights up in hours of darkness. The lighting cycle is shorter for the summer settings while it is longer for the winter settings.
It’s easy to set up and there’s no programming required - simply plug the timer into a wall socket, then plug your lamp or light into the security timer and switch it on.

Random timings
I bought 2 for myself and 2 which I gave to other family members. I think security in the home is important, especially during the hours of darkness. The timers do not have to be programmed, you just plug them in and the table lamp with go on and off at random times. Just be aware the socket needs to be clear and not blocked by furniture to allow the timer ‘eye’ to work. A bonus was that they were cheaper at Robert Dyas compared with other retailers.

Lovely bit of kit
Bought 3 of these security timer switches they do exactly what I wanted them to do. Much happier now when we have to leave the house empty at any time.

Useful addition
We do already have manual programable timers which we set for lights and radios, but this less predictable timer is a very useful addition particularly now winter looms.

No use to me
Website and published reviews all positive .... but you only find the details when you get the item. The timer comes on at hourly intervals throughout the night which is not how a normal household lives. When I returned the item the shop manager told me it was a 'natural' product and implied that my household was strange!
