Satisfied customer.
Having seen this recommended by Which, I went ahead and ordered it. I wasn't disappointed. A good rich sound. Apart from anything else it's a nice compact size, fitting well into a bookshelf and, being wood-style, looks good too. Very helpful people at VQ when I had a small tuning issue...soon sorted.

Overall pleased with the purchase
It was easy to set up. a There are a couple of small niggles, firstly the display light, even though it has 3 levels of brightness, does not switch off so in the bedroom this is a nuisance. Secondly the alarm setting is not particularly user friendly, so changing the time forces you to re-enter all the other settings i.e. weekend/ weekdays, volume, snooze time.

Good sound but not for the easily tech confused
A compact, visually appealing portable & mains radio with a sensitive DAB+ band receiving 100 or more stations (plus FM for those who need it). Sound quality surprisingly good for its size. BUT... getting to grips with tuning stations and setting them as pre-sets will drive the averagely intelligent person (even geeks, probably) to frustrating madness. The over-'simplified' instructions don't help much either. (Better to download the real, properly written manual). Unfortunately, even when you have sorted out how to get the Monty working nicely, a simple misfumble on the buttons will screw it all up again.

Monty DAB radio alarm
The radio is surprisingly light weight but the sound quality is excellent. It isn’t particularly obvious to set up or to set an alarm even with the instructions but once you work it out it’s fine. I keep mine connected to the mains rather than use a battery and I know to check that the cable hasn’t come out slightly at the back of the radio. My alarm didn’t go off one morning and that was why! A good radio alarm and great looking but wouldn’t pay more than I did.
