For fuss free cooking with less energy usage
Pressure is lower than a stove top pressure cooker (11psi rather than 15psi) so be aware of that - longer cooking times needed for meat. But this is so useful if you like to cook stews, pulses, soups, stocks without having to stand over the stove and watch the pan. For cooking pulses for vegetarian food particularly, it is extremely useful. You don’t need to pre-soak, and you don’t have a kitchen full of steam and a monster electric bill. Not noisy or hissy or scary like a trad pressure cooker. There are squillions of recipes out there because this is an extremely popular kitchen appliance now, and many youtube videos showing the different functions. You can saute things before you pressure cook them, eg, onions and leeks etc for soup, then add stock and other ingredients and put the lid on, seal the weight, and press “soup” and then it takes about 40 minutes including heating up and releasing pressure naturally. But you can always release the pressure fast if you are impatient! Yes, it isn’t ultra quick, but it is quicker than cooking a casserole in the oven. I sometimes cook a stew on stew setting then finish it in the oven, but this still takes less time than conventional cooking. I notice someone here has reviewed this badly on the basis they didn’t understand how to use it, but the manual gives clear instructions, and it is not complicated if you can read. Besides, as I said, youtube has videos showing usage if you can’t read LOL….It is quite big, so make sure you have space for it, but it wouldn’t be difficult to keep it in a cupboard and get it out to use as needed if necessary, it’s not too heavy. Get spare silicone rings for sweet/savoury and the glass lid is useful for slow cooking. Re Slow cooking, the slow cook temperature is a tad on the high side so you need to keep an eye on it to check the fluid level. But it does slow cook effectively, if that’s your bag. Soup, Stew, Meat, Grain settings all work fine also. I have the original model not the fancy smart models but the principle is the same. I am buying one for my sister for Christmas. Very much worth the money.

So easy to use
I've always been a bit frightened of pressure cookers so ended up never using the couple I have bought over the years. This is different! It's so easy to use and isn't scary. I've used it several times now with great success.

Brilliant
Bought one 18 months ago and my this is for my neighbours as they wanted one too. They had a cheaper alternative but it gave up after 6 uses - nowhere need as good or well-made as this as I use mine daily! Much cheaper at Robert Dyas than anywhere else too

So easy to use. So so handy to cook with. I've cut my prep, throw and run away time to seconds using frozen onions, frozen carrots etc, making nice soups or stews. No need to watch for the pot to boil, no cleaning hob after. Just throw it in and run. Who needs a slow cooker when you can have a fast cooker!

I marked it down a star as I find the lid tricky to put on. Sure I will get the knack soor. It would beneift from a good booklet with instructions and recipes.

If you choose to have your order delivered to your local store, it is completely free and will be delivered within 5 working days (excluding Bank Holidays).

If you wish to return your item to Robert Dyas, you can do so by one of the following methods:

Contact our Customer Services team who will be able to arrange a collection for your item. Please ensure that you provide your order number when contacting customer services.
If you are not at home when we try to collect we reserve the right to deduct from your refund or charge your credit card the direct costs to us of the failed return in accordance with the Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) Regulations 2000.
2. Visit Your Local Robert Dyas Store
Whether you bought the product in store, online or over the phone, most of our products can be returned to a Robert Dyas stores. Please bring your order confirmation as proof of purchase. Please do not attempt to return large or heavy products, including large kitchen appliances, outdoor furniture, indoor furniture etc to your local store. If in doubt of whether you should return a product to your local store, please contact customer services first.
