FAQs

What are the Different Types of Mowers?

Our machines use different type of power sources: mains, petrol, cordless and manual. A mains lawn mower is an electric machine with a cable. A cordless one is an electric without a cable. It uses Lithium-Ion batteries which last a long time and hold the charge effectively. A manual lawn mower is pushed or pulled along by the user.

What is a Rotary Lawn Mower?

A rotary lawn mower has a single blade that rotates horizontally under the mower, and are best suited to longer, thicker grass. If your lawn is quite fresh and thin, they will still work well, but a rotary lawn mower operates at its best when tackling a tougher grass with a lot of growth. Perfect for a long-overdue garden manicure.

Which Lawn Mower is the Best?

This can completely depend on the size of your garden. For example, if your garden is on the smaller side, then a corded electric lawn mower could be best suited to you. Often cost-effective, they’re best for smaller gardens because of their electrical cord. However if your garden is large, then a cordless lawn mower would serve you best.

What is a self-propelled lawn mower?

A self-propelled lawn mower has a speed control lever, typically part of the handle like a trigger that engages the power source and makes the mower move forwards. You don’t need to push or pull the lawn mower, you just need to guide its direction while depressing the power lever. This makes them very user friendly.

Does a lawn mower trim edges?

If you need to trim tights areas that are hard to reach, you should use a strimmer that will cut grass around trees.

Can a lawn mower trim long grass?

It is advised to trim long grass before using a mower. A lawn mower may struggle to handle the amount of clipping which could damage it. You should use a hedge trimmer for best result.
