Insect EffectivenessThe actual attraction of insects to the device is not very effective.

What now?I bought this last year and it is excellent for killing insects, including the loads of moths that have come in with the hot weather. However, when I went to your Brighton branch yesterday, to buy some more of the sticky papers, I was told that they are not being sold there any more. This is in spite of the unit itself still being for sale. I can get them through Amazon, but they are very expensive, and there is a charge for delivery. Why has Robert Dyas stopped selling the papers, yet they are still selling the main unit?

What a load of rubbishI tend to now write reviews.unless something is brilliant or rubbish. This product is the later. Your probably get better results simply swatting flies with the £50 note you would be using to buy what is effectively is a light build in a plastic box...I'm gobsmacked this product made it to the shelves. Doesn't anyone test these things first.

IneffectualFlies have not been attracted to the UV light at all. The one fly I’ve seen near it crawled both inside and outside the casing before going on it’s way. The sticky board which slots into the case was already torn along the majority of the perforated line so when the lamp was moved, the top half fell down and had to be prized apart from the lower half.
Waste of materials, electricity and money.

Huge disappointmentMy fault, I should have investigated before purchase. I had expected one of those high-voltage zappers that attract and kills flies. Instead I got a miniature neon tube lamp and some fly paper. Could have made one myself in a cardboard box for under a tenner.

UselessTried this in various positions and it caught only 3 flies in a week. The flies even sat on top of it and completely ignored the light.
It is supposed to work in conservatories but the instructions say to place in the darkest place in the room away from windows!!
Robert Dyas kindly took it back!

Nope.I've now watched a good number of flies go into the trap, have a long buzz around, stop all over the glue trap and then buzz off out of the trap altogether. Glue paper clearly not strong enough, and the gaps are way too wide allowing escape.
Clearly I should have spent more money on getting a 'proper' fly killer rather than one designed to look good.
Aesthetics and quality are irrelevant if function is poor!

waste of moneyIt is just a piece of sticky paper at the back of the ultra violet lamp, the first time we switched it on a fly flew round the room for ages before finally going into the insectocutor only to reappear a few seconds later unharned.

Fly killerThis product was very disappointing and not good value for money, cheap fly paper purchased for a fraction of the price is just as if not more effective.
