Shire Walsoken 12 x 8ft Log Cabin

This contemporary-style log cabin features a light and airy living area with a handy side shed that can go on either side of the building.

 The walls are a traditional log cabin construction with sturdy 19 mm logs. The roof is T&G with mineral roof felt supplied and the floor is also T&G with pressure-treated bearers. The double doors are lockable and there is one opening window. The building has full-length, SAN safety glazing which is a rigid, clear, glass alternative. The log cabin is made in the UK from high-grade, North European pine.

The building is a planning-friendly 2.15 m high and the internal eaves height is 6' for a spacious interior. It is supplied untreated and ready for you to paint or stain immediately after assembly. Where dimensions are critical please check internal (floor) sizes as building dimensions are to the edge of the individual boards that make up the cabin and will include the crossover of the logs. Please note that log cabins are supplied as individual log boards that are assembled length by length, building up from the floor; not pre-made panels. Assembly instructions are included. The principal area internally is 7 ft x 7ft so ideal for relaxing or working. The storage shed internally is approximately 4 ft x 7 ft, please see the metric drawing for accuracy.

Delivery

Following your order, you will be sent a link to choose your delivery day. On the morning of the delivery day, you will also receive live tracking information. This log cabin needs a solid base to sit on, flat and level to a sufficient size. Grass, soil or gravel are not sufficient as they will move with the weight of a building.

Shire are currently unable to deliver to the following postal codes: AB, BT, DD, FK, GY, HS, IM, IV, JE, KW, KY, LL, any postcode above PA19, all PH postcodes, PL, any SA over SA19, any SY over 15, TR and ZE.

Installation Service

Installations are carried out on weekdays only, typically between the hours of 7 am and 8 pm. In unavoidable circumstances, these times can be extended.

Prior to assembly of your building, you should consider the following:

• Your base must be firm, flat and level.
• Ensure the base is sufficiently sturdy to be able to support the intended use and the weight of the building. We recommend only concrete bases for log cabins and larger buildings.
• If you are purchasing an Adjustable Base the surface does not have to be level. You do need to check that the ground is sufficiently solid and not a steep slope.
• Our installation teams may use a vehicle up to 17 tonnes (nearly the size of a standard dustcart). They will need to be able to access the property with the vehicle.
• The team may need to park their vehicle for up to a full day – please arrange for a permit in controlled areas.
• The installation team will need to be able to move all around the building during assembly. There will need to be at least 2 ft or 600 mm clearance all around. You will also need this clearance for future ongoing maintenance.
• There should be no overhead obstructions like low branches, power cables etc.
• To avoid issues when our team arrive you will be asked to take a photo of your prepared site and forward it to our customer service team.
• However, should the assembly team arrive and they consider the site chosen for your building is not suitable the team will ask you if you would like them to continue, and if you want them to, they will ask you to sign a disclaimer.
• If the assembly team have to leave the site before completion for reasons beyond our control, including the reasons stated above then the assembly charge will not be refundable.
• To preserve and extend the life of your building we recommend it is treated immediately after installation with an appropriate preservative and that this is repeated annually, or more frequently if the instructions on your chosen preservative state.
