Stylish but flawed
I'd been searching for a contemporary TV stand for a while and decided on the Alphason Carbon as I liked its clean lines and stylish finish. When it arrived, the assembly instructions were well detailed and assembly seemed fairly straightforward. It came together fairly easily on the whole as I have a fair knowledge of assembling flat packed furniture and have fitted many a kitchen with no problem. That said, it's a real shame the manufacturer opted for poor quality fitting hinges. One set completely refused to engage and believe me I tried many different ways to get them to click into place. To their credit the manufacturer did send me me a new set, but to be honest these were not much better. My solution was to remove both hinges on the door and main body of the furniture, then force the items to click into place before assembling them back on the main unit. To be honest not an ideal solution but it worked. If the hinges were better quality/construction I would have given the unit 5 stars. Love the look of the furniture, just a shame Alphason cut corners on their attention to detail.
