Garden sheds are a great way to keep your belongings safe and your garden clean and tidy. You’ll be well equipped to store all of your gardening tools, hammers, garden furniture, bird feeders and more! It’s even handy for keeping your bike and car accessories organised too for your convenience, especially if you don’t have a garage. It even gives you that little bit of extra workshop space that you need too if you put shelves in and you can keep things to hand.

Garden Shed FAQs:

What are the different types of garden sheds?

Our range of garden sheds includes numerous garden storage made from different classic materials such as wood, metal and plastic. Each of these materials has different benefits.

You should also consider roof type when selecting a garden shed:

  • Apex roofs are in the form of a triangle with two slopes that meet in the middle, which directs rain down both sides. If you plan on working inside your garden building with larger tools, this type of roof is better as it provides you with more space in the middle.
  • Pent roofs feature a single slope, with the highest point located on the wall where the door is situated. These pent roof buildings offer an evenly distributed internal height as the roof does not lower on each side, which makes it great for plenty of storage space.
  • Whether you're looking for 6'x8', 7'x5' or a variety of other sizes, we'll have something to make the most of your outdoor space.

Cladding is another thing to keep in mind when choosing your shed. Different styles offer varying levels of durability, strength and integrity. Find out the difference between shiplap, tongue and groove, and overlap in our Shed Buying Guide.

    How to treat a shed?

Sheds come with a base coat of wood preservatives added. You should treat your shed once a year with good quality, water-resistant wood treatment such as, Briwax Clear Wood Treatment.

For more info, please see our How to Treat a Shed: A Step by Step Guide.

    How to insulate a shed?

Bubble wrap is the most cost effective and cheapest way to insulate a wooden shed.

    This can be done by:

    1. Measuring the shed panels and cutting the bubble wrap to fit.

    2. Staple/tack the wrapping to the shed.

    3. Using a sheet of MDF boarding over the wrapping, screw/nail into place.

Alternatively, Fibreglass Wool is also extremely useful and perfect for insulating a shed. However, Fibreglass Wool requires protective gear for both your hands and face.
