Easy to assemble, & the wheel locks are a good addition. Only thing is it leaks from the filler cap after I put water in to make it heavier.

Not for large parasols
Flimsy and not fit for the parasol that I bought, a small plastic unit that I had to fill with concrete in the end. Only good for small parasols at best.

Design is bad, bad, bad!
There has been a delay in sending this Review because I have been taking time to decide whether I should produce a normal review to you or to send a report in to RoSPA. As you have now approached me I feel it is right to reply to you. I can still advise RoSPA at a later date if necessary. From the illustration and description, this Parasol base appeared to be a good design and well-made. However taking it into use proved it to be of bad design and actually dangerous. To begin with, the 'tube' which should hold the parasol pole is of plastic, not thick enough to hold the pole. And unsatisfactorily screws into the base. The pole is intended to be held in position by a circle of adjustable 'lugs' which are tightened onto the pole by turning a ring on the top of the tube.But the faces of the 'lugs' are smooth and the tightening ring is also smooth, making a full tightening impossible to achieve. Therefore instead of the parasol standing completely vertical, it is at an angle. But also the smooth ring means that the pole is not and will not be held in a strong enough grip. and the natural action has been suffered. During a recent sunny period, a sudden gust of wind blew the parasol telecom out of the tube, with the end passing very close to a lady's face. One worries what would have happened if the pole end had been an inch or two closer! The designer who ignored basic principles of mechanics is clearly in the wrong occupation, as is the individual who passed it for production and use! I will delay placing these facts before RoSPA for the present, but reserve the right to do if necessary.

If you are not at home when we try to collect we reserve the right to deduct from your refund or charge your credit card the direct costs to us of the failed return in accordance with the Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) Regulations 2000.
