What Gas Should I Use for a BBQ?

Liquefied petroleum gas is what is commonly used to fuel domestic gas BBQ’s. The majority of modern barbecues run off propane gas, which can be purchased from many well-known hardware stores. All you need to do before purchasing is ensure the regulator on your BBQ is compatible with the fitting on the gas bottle you want to buy, and the rest is simple!

How to prepare a Gas BBQ?

Before using your gas BBQ, make sure to test it for any leaks by ensuring that the connection to the propane tank or natural gas line is safe and that the hose works well. Any leaks can be repaired quickly.

Clean your grill with a barbecue brush and season or oil your grates to prevent rust from building up and keep them easy to clean after use.

How to Clean a Gas BBQ?

Before you start, make sure your gas supply is turned off and your grill is cool enough to touch, but still warm. A non-scratching scraper and sponge should help to scrub off what you can, but for a deeper clean, remove the grills and drip tray and soak in a tray of warm water. After applying a generous sprinkling of soda crystals, leave to soak overnight, and let the magic happen! For any other areas, a strong soda crystal solution in a spray bottle and a wire brush or sponge should do the trick. Rinse everything off in clean water, reassemble, and your BBQ will be sparkling clean and ready for its next use.
